Wolf’s Den

Grade level: K-6
Equipment: None
Game Description: Watch out for the wolves! In this game, the wolf roams around his den trying to catch the rabbits as they run back-and-forth through the wolf’s territory. Action-packed and always great for a laugh in PE class, outside, or at camp.

  1. Using lines or cones as markers, create a wolf’s den area right in the middle of two safe areas.
  2. The wolf must stay in his den.
  3. The rabbits attempt to run through the den from side to side without getting tagged by the wolf.
  4. If a rabbit gets tagged, he becomes a wolf.
  5. A good idea is to have a stash of pinnies so that when a rabbit is tagged, he first quickly puts on a pinnie so you can distinguish who is a wolf and who is a rabbit.
  6. Play until all of the rabbits have been caught!

  1. Kids loved this game and ask to play it when I give them free Friday to choose a game to play

  2. We use pool noodles as taggers, so they know who is who. Remind them about safety: gentle tags, no sliding or diving on the floor. Fun game!
